Food Waste Prevention Week

Food Waste Prevention Week 2025 (April 7-13) is more than just an event—it’s a movement!

Powered by community, collaboration, and collective energy, together we can inspire action and drive real results in reducing food waste.

Becoming a partner is easy, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way. Whether you’re resharing or creating a social media post, hosting or attending an event or webinar, sponsoring or spreading awareness, your involvement can make a big impact.

What is Food Waste Prevention Week?

After meeting with the founders of California's Food Waste Prevention Week in 2020, the Florida collaborative decided to make Florida Food Waste Prevention Week a reality. After a wildly successful inaugural year in 2021, states, cities and organizations have joined what has become the National Food Waste Prevention Week movement.

During the 2024 campaign, we experienced huge growth , with more than 790 partners across 49 states (and 22 countries!) who have joined forces to educate and inspire real cultural change on food waste!  See the list of partners below.

We're excited and humbled to be a part of something that is truly moving the needle on reducing wasted food, supporting a healthier environment, saving families money, and addressing food insecurity in our communities.
